Field of View Adjuster

Enhance Roleplay Realism with Field Of View
In real life, you can't see everything happening behind you. However, GTA V's default third-person camera allows players to freely rotate the camera and gain information they shouldn't normally have. Field Of View solves this problem by creating a realistic vision system that limits what players can see, resulting in fairer gameplay and more immersive roleplay.
A Natural Line of Sight
Players and NPCs outside of your character's field of view gradually fade into a ghost-like state, making them difficult to see until you actually turn and look in their direction. As soon as they enter your line of sight again, they instantly return to their normal appearance.
This creates a much more natural and believable visual experience without feeling intrusive.
Prevent Third-Person Camera Abuse
One of the biggest issues in roleplay servers is players using the free camera to look behind walls or check what's happening behind their character without physically turning around.
Field Of View helps eliminate this advantage by preventing players from gathering information outside their natural line of sight, making roleplay and combat encounters significantly fairer.
Customize Exactly What Is Affected
Every server has different needs. With Field Of View, you can decide whether the system should affect:
- Real players only
- Players and local NPCs
- A fully immersive environment for every entity around the player
Everything can be configured through a simple and organized config.lua.
Optional Look-Behind Block
For servers that want complete realism, the script includes an optional feature that disables GTA V's default Look Behind controls (C on keyboard or R3 on controllers), preventing players from bypassing the vision system.
Built for Maximum Performance
Performance is one of the core design goals of Field Of View.
The resource is divided into two intelligent logic threads that automatically manage all visibility calculations while maintaining 0.00ms Resmon usage during idle and under normal gameplay. The result is a highly immersive system with virtually no performance impact on either the client or the server.
Easy to Configure
Server owners can easily customize:
- Field of view angles
- Fade transparency levels
- Target entity pools
- Player/NPC behavior
- Look-behind settings
All options are clearly organized inside the configuration file for quick setup.
Multi-Language Support
Field Of View supports English, Turkish, French, German, and additional languages, making it suitable for communities around the world.
